Sargon is a family-owned company specializing in masonry, stone and steel construction. Sargon Masonry Construction is a full-service land development and commercial masonry contractor specializing in perimeter fencing, retaining walls, masonry structures, entry monuments, footings and many other various design-build retaining wall systems.

The Commercial Superintendent role will manage the daily on-site production of multiple projects in the Arizona market. This position will manage and coordinate daily site activities for commercial masonry construction from pre-planning through project close-out, including proactive workforce management, resource allocation & prioritization.

This position reports directly to the Commercial Project manager and works closely with the Commercial Foreman, the Commercial Project Engineer.

Primary Scope Responsible For:

 Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of employees and sub-contractors.

 Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.

 Inspect work progress, equipment, or construction sites to verify safety or to ensure that specifications are

met.

 Locate, measure, and mark site locations and placement of structures and equipment, using measuring and marking equipment.

 Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities and subcontractors on the jobsite.

 Assign work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs.

 Proactively meet with project managers, other departments, and subcontractors to regarding all aspects of job

 Communicate daily with Project Coordinator to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies.

 Assist Commercial Foreman in workforce pay rate evaluations

 Physically visit all assigned active jobsites daily to ensure safety standards, employment gaps and address any construction issues to support Sargon field personnel.

 Address workers or production problems and recommend solutions, such as improving production methods or implementing motivational plans as well as expectations

 Accurate and timely documentation of any issues related to a member of your team turned into HR

 Train workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, and Sargon company culture & policies

 Record information such as personnel, production, or operational data on specified forms or reports, including Safety Meetings, Block Counts, and Equipment Maintenance Checklists

 Promote the Sargon Safety Culture in every aspect of job duties

 Arrange for repairs of equipment or machinery

 Suggest or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, termination, or hire

 Maintain 3-week projections and project schedules

 Communicate with client’s Project Manager, on a daily basis, to establish and ensure goals are being met

 Ensure the overall quality and completeness of projects

 Accurately and timely reporting of expenses to accounting department on a weekly basis

To Be Successful at This Role, You Will Need:

 Must have integrity and the ability to discuss issues openly, honestly and appropriately with your team and

clients, including but not limited to, managing conflicts and/or diffusing conflicts

 Must be able to manage multiple projects at one time

 Must be able to manage multiple masonry crews

 Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities, strong math and plan reading skills, ability to deliver high-quality, time-sensitive work

 Equally professional in field and office environments required for this role

 Positive, engaged attitude and demonstrated willingness to learn, then apply, new skills

 Conversational in Spanish highly preferred, but not required

 High school diploma or equivalent

 Fluency in English and Spanish preferred, conversational in English and Spanish required.

 Must have at least 5-7 years experience in Commercial Masonry, preferably 2-3 years a Superintendent.

Sargon Masonry Construction offers competitive compensation based on experience and skill level. This is full-time role

between $80,000-$100,000 annual compensation, depending on candidate’s qualifications. Sargon offers Medical,
