DBA Construction, Inc. is currently hiring a Craft Foreman for outside commercial construction in the Phoenix area. Construction experience preferred.
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assists superintendent with ongoing training and development of new and veteran crew members.
· Supervises and works alongside crew members to accomplish daily tasks as outlined by the project schedule.
· Assists in planning and verifying work schedule, material quantities, equipment, and workforce needs.
· Completes daily reports and project forms for review by superintendent and submission to office support staff.
· Delegates work to specific crew members based on individual skill levels and schedule requirements.
· Assists in the direction of subcontractors and suppliers when subsequent work is being performed or material is being delivered on site.
· Assures that work performed and materials delivered meet project specifications, as explained, or outlined by the superintendent.
· Watches work processes and provides input for process improvement, adding value or cutting costs where appropriate.
· Communicates with other craft foremen to coordinate work activity and avoid conflict.
· Enforces company, client, and industry standards amongst crew members.
· Participates in daily toolbox meetings as necessary and always ensures safety and job hazard awareness amongst crew.
· Instructs crew members on the importance of accurate completion and review of timesheets and other interoffice documents.
· Administers housekeeping procedures and ensures the jobsite is left in same or better condition than it was found.
· Provides appropriate feedback to project superintendent regarding individuals’ skills and performance.
· Takes personal responsibility for the performance of the crew members under his/her supervision and provides an example of strong work ethic and integrity.
Tools Utilized
1. Trade specific tools:
a. Carpentry
b. Concrete
c. Heavy Equipment
2. Project Plans – Understand plans and specifications and build project, accordingly, discuss discrepancies as needed.
3. Office Forms – Daily reports and logs, 3-week look ahead, time sheets, job specific safety forms, daily safety analysis.
4. Time Sheets – Daily timekeeping, recording of accurate hours and costs.
5. PPE – Appropriate personal protective equipment including hard hat, safety vest, steel toed boots, eye protection, hearing protection, including additional safety items as required.
